Program Description

Description

Poetry writing is a wonderful adventure, allowing writers to indulge in wild loops of imagination and satisfy some of their deepest yearnings. – Rita Dove

Join poet and educator Connie Stadler for a six week poetry workshop. Emphasis will be placed on developing creative strategies to better appreciate ‘the history of the human heart’. Key poetic elements will be applied to guide short in-class writing sessions. In-home follow-ups will center on honing work through the skills of revision. Each workshop member will need a notebook in order to trace the growth of their unique artistic voice. The instructor will be available for guidance and there will also be ample opportunity for sharing work. This will be an online class using the Zoom platform. Access to the internet is required. If you use you smart phone you will need to download the Zoom app. Contact the reference department at (540)635-3153, ext 105 or at reference@samuelslibrary.net for assistance in setting up Zoom on your computer or mobile device.

Registration is limited to 10 participants.
