Program Description

Description

Come see us! We're opening our doors, with a few health and safety restrictions - due to the Virginia Governor's Executive Order, Samuels Library must limit the number of patrons allowed in the building at a time. To meet this requirement, we're allowing patrons to reserve one one-hour time slot per day - browse the stacks, check out some movies, use a computer, and get as much out of your Library as we can offer at this time!

To keep our patrons and staff safe, we will spend the 30 minutes between each time slot disinfecting and sanitizing surfaces. All staff will be wearing masks and gloves, and practicing social distancing.

Things to Keep in Mind

  • If you are feeling unwell, please stay home
  • You can only reserve one time slot per day
  • Every individual entering the building must be registered - if you are bringing children, each of them must be registered with their full names, including infants
  • Please arrive 10 minutes prior to the beginning of your time slot - this will speed up the check-in process
  • Patrons cannot stay longer than the time slot they have reserved - all patrons must leave the building at the end of the time slot, regardless of when they arrived
  • We encourage all patrons to wear a mask - if you do not have a mask, we will have some available at the door when you come in the building
  • Meeting rooms, conference rooms and study rooms are not available
  • No tutoring inside the building - we must follow safe social distancing guidelines, and limit each table to one person
    • If you wish to have tutoring sessions here, you are welcome to use one of the picnic tables located outside the building
  • Notary service is not available at this time
  • Interlibrary loans are not available at this time
  • For holds, please call 540.635.3153 for curbside pickup
    • Patrons who place holds may need to wait up to 24 hours before they are available for pickup
  • The outside bookdrop is open if you simply need to return items
  • All library programs are taking place virtually
